Looking out over stunning Shropshire countryside, the family-run accommodation rated by the AA (Outstanding, 85% Merit) boasts magnificent views and impeccable service. With 2 AA Red Rosettes and Michelin-listed cuisine, it is one of the most awarded hotels in South Shropshire. The talented kitchen team continue to amaze with menus of divine flavour, colour, delicacy and imagination.
A Full English and Continental breakfast is served each morning.
Over recent times, the rooms and bathrooms have been upgraded to provided comfortable accommodation. The hotel boasts an 11 metre indoor swimming pool, a sauna and treatment rooms, offering a full range of spa therapies. Free internet access is available in public areas. Ludlow nestles amongst unbelievable scenery, described by the famous architectural historian, Pevsner, as 'one of the most memorable streets in England.’ The River Teme snakes below the castle parapets winding through weirs towards the Severn. One will find all the activities one would expect: walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, adventure activities, hang gliding, and for the less adventurous, eating, drinking and boutique shopping. About 10 miles away, you will find 'Little Switzerland'; with the sound of redstarts, buzzards and skylarks for walkers, cyclists and riders to enjoy. Discover the romantic beauty of Caer Caradoc, the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones. The hills of South Shropshire are one of the few remaining rural idylls and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The vast Mortimer Forest folds around Ludlow, covering much of the surrounding area.
Ludlow Castle (2 miles / 3.2 km): Perched above the River Teme this is a regular setting for events, markets, craft and food fairs, Shakespearean plays and concerts; the expansive ruins of this impressive medieval castle offer a glimpse into the life of medieval society.
Ludlow Racecourse (6.5 miles / 10.5 km): It is said that 14th century soldiers raced their horses at this modern day National Hunt course. Surrounded by countryside, Edwardian character is mixed with recently completed luxurious hospitality boxes. Overton Grange hosts weddings, civil ceremonies (civil licence held), business meetings, conferences, private functions and corporate events. The function room can accommodate a maximum of 200 guests.
