Set in the sparse Highlands, with a view over the volcanic Hekla Mountain, this self-service hostel offers 2 communal kitchens, along with a large, shared dining area. It is surrounded by nature, 45 minutes’ drive from Flúdir village.
Gljásteinn Hólaskógur Hostel offers basic accommodation with shared bathrooms. Guests need to bring their own towels, pillows and linen or sleeping bags, as they cannot be rented on site.
General facilities include BBQ equipment. Gljásteinn Hólaskógur can arrange Icelandic horse riding tours on request or suggest other day trips.
