Putina's Spanish foundation occurred on May 24,

1595 by Don Juan de Vega. The colonizers have been primarily concerned that each town has its church or chapel.

The province of San Antonio de Putina is located in the eastern central part of the department of Puno, bordering the neighboring Republic of Bolivia.

the church of putina is a colonial work, all of stone finished building, according to research by professor Alberto Urquiaga, in 1623. the majestic grandeur of the temple as a whole is appreciated from all parts of the town.



The Thermal Baths are the fundamental characteristic. the Putina spa, has deserved the study visit of famous scientists such as Antonio Raimondi and Felipe Urquieta. There are two bathing complexes, the Wenceslao Molina and the José Solorzano Salas Tourist Resort. which is the most important and the busiest, as it has a crystalline pool of hot water, as well as several pools of hot and tempered water. Its waters have healing properties for rheumatism, some dermal conditions, dissolving stones, etc. proven effective.
