Santa Maria delle Grazie (Santa Maria del Graca) is a Dominican church and convent in Milan, included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The church is famous for the painting of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper, which was painted on the wall of the convent's refectory. Different from what one thinks The Last Supper was not painted by the technique of fresco (where the painting is applied on a still fresh mass basis) and to this is due to its current state well worn by time. The painting also underwent several restorations.
