It was ordered to be built by Doña Blanca Vergara de Errázuriz, daughter of the founder of Viña del Mar, Don José Francisco Vergara. Its construction began in 1906, and the work was completed in 1910, under the supervision and command of the architect Ettore Petri. It could be said that its style is predominantly Venetian with the exception that instead of using marble, stone and bronze for its construction, as in the distant Italian city, here it was ordered to use light materials.
This Palace of 3,000 mt. built. On the first floor of the palace were located the rooms, where today the Museum of Fine Arts works. The upper floor today houses the School of Fine Arts.
Most of the furniture was acquired directly in Europe and in it you can see a great variety of styles, the most attractive being the Rococo, Louis XVI and Empire. The exhibition unveils the National and European Pinacoteca in its rooms.
It is located at Calle Errázuriz 563-596 in the Quinta Vergara Park.

By car:
One of the options to get to Viña del Mar is through Route 68, you enter Valparaíso and follow the correct signs to get to Viña. The Viña - Valparaíso Highway is 5.5 km long and begins in Caleta Abarca.
There is also a direct route to Viña del Mar from Route 68 towards Variante Agua Santa or Route 66, to travel a beautiful path with views of the Bay of Valparaíso and the beaches of Viña del Mar.
In its rooms we will find valuable works of the European baroque, with paintings by Pedro Pablo Rubens, in Chilean painting, an important phase of our artistic history can be known, with works by Pedro Lira, Juan Francisco González Llano, Alberto Valenzuela Puelma, Camilo Mori , Carlos Pedraza and the teacher Arturo Gordon, founder of the Viña del Mar School of Fine Arts.
In this museum there is a room dedicated to the founding family, there a portrait of Mrs. Dolores Álvarez is kept, made by the French artist Raimundo de Monvoisin.
The Municipal Council of Viña del Mar, approved it as a historical and architectural building on Tuesday, May 9, 2000
